Welcome Back to the 2026–2027 School Year!

Superintend
Dear Patton Families, Staff, Students, and Community,

It is with great excitement and optimism that I welcome you to the
2026–2027 school year at General George S. Patton School District #133!

The beginning of a new school year always brings a renewed sense of hope and possibility. It is a time to reflect on where we've been, celebrate the progress we've made, and look ahead to the opportunities that await our students. Whether you are returning to Patton or joining our school family for the first time, know that we are committed to providing every child with an exceptional educational experience in an environment where they are challenged, supported, and inspired to succeed. This school year marks another exciting chapter for our district as we continue building on our commitment to academic excellence, student achievement, and continuous improvement.

Welcoming New Leadership

I am pleased to welcome *Mrs. Paula Brown* as our new *Interim Principal*.
Mrs. Brown is a familiar and respected face within the Patton family,
having dedicated many years of service to our students, staff, and
community. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated
outstanding leadership, unwavering commitment, and a genuine passion for
helping children succeed. While this is her first year serving as
Principal, I have every confidence that her experience, relationships, and
student-centered leadership will continue moving our school forward. Please
join me in congratulating Mrs. Brown as she begins this exciting new chapter.

We are also thrilled to welcome *Ms. Sabrina Curry* as our new *Student
Success Coordinator*. Ms. Curry brings more than two decades of educational
experience, including serving as a special education teacher and
instructional leader. Her extensive background in curriculum, instruction,
student support, and intervention makes her an outstanding addition to our
leadership team. In this newly created role, Ms. Curry will focus on
ensuring every student has the opportunity to reach his or her full
potential. Her work will include supporting teachers with instructional
practices, strengthening curriculum implementation, coordinating our
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), providing targeted small-group
interventions, and overseeing our after-school and summer learning
programs. Her work represents an important investment in both our students
and our educators, ensuring that every learner receives the support needed
to thrive.

Investing in Our Schools

While students enjoyed a well-deserved summer break, significant work was
taking place behind the scenes across our district.

During *Phase II of our Summer 2026 Facilities Improvement Project*, we
completed major roofing repairs at both district buildings while also
making significant heating, ventilation, and air conditioning upgrades and
repairs at Patton School. These projects represent our continued commitment
to maintaining safe, comfortable, and welcoming learning environments for
our students and staff.

These improvements are part of our long-term commitment to preserving our
facilities while creating spaces that support teaching, learning, and
student success for years to come.

Looking Ahead: Our Three-Year Strategic Plan

Perhaps one of the most exciting initiatives underway is the development of
our *Three-Year Strategic Plan*.

Over the past several months, we have intentionally listened before
leading. Through surveys, focus groups, meetings, and conversations, we
have gathered valuable input from our students, staff, parents, community
members, Board of Education, and district leadership. Every voice has
helped shape a shared vision for the future of Patton School District #133.

This strategic plan is much more than a document—it is a roadmap for the
future of our district. It will establish clear priorities, measurable
goals, and actionable strategies that will guide our decision-making over
the next three years. Together, we are building a plan that is both
*community-driven and data-informed*, focused on strengthening academic achievement,
enhancing operational effectiveness, developing strong leadership at every
level, improving student outcomes, and ensuring the long-term
sustainability of our district. Most importantly, it reflects the hopes,
expectations, and aspirations of the people who know our district best. As
the plan is finalized, I look forward to sharing it with our school
community and working together to turn that vision into meaningful action.
The future of Patton will not be defined by one individual—it will be
shaped by all of us working together with a shared purpose and an
unwavering commitment to our students.

Finally, I want to express my deepest appreciation to our incredible team
of *12-month employees*. Throughout the summer months, while many were
enjoying a well-earned break, our custodians, maintenance staff, office
personnel, technology team, administrators, and support staff worked
tirelessly to prepare our buildings, classrooms, technology systems,
schedules, and operations for another successful school year. Their
dedication often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is seen and felt
by every student, family, and staff member who walks through our doors on
the first day of school. We are grateful for their professionalism,
commitment, and pride in making Patton ready to welcome everyone back.

As we begin this new year together, I remain confident that our greatest
successes are still ahead of us. Thank you for your continued partnership,
your trust, and your commitment to our students. Together, we will continue
creating opportunities, inspiring excellence, and ensuring every child has
the support they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

Welcome back, and here's to an outstanding 2026–2027 school year!

Yours in Education,

*Mr. David L. Brown*
